CHEONG KELLY ♥

Good food and pretty clothes are my greatest weaknesses.

大家好! Back to update on Monday as promised. The original plan for the day was to head to SEA aquarium, lunch at The Line and finally Garden by the Bay in the evening. So disappointed when I checked the website for the operating hours and saw that certain parts of the Garden by the Bay will be closed for maintenance. ): Well even if we stick to the original plan we wouldn't have enough time to cover everything also >< This post will be filled with lots of photos, but I'll try my best to choose only the nicer ones uh :P

Btw, the only "editing" I do for my photos are cropping, except for those photos I took from my instagram.

I really really love the jellyfishes! Super pretty, especially when the lights are changing from blue to red, green, orange and yellow etc.

No idea why they were kissing ><

This boy really 很爱演..

My favorite photo of the day, finally taught him how to smile naturally at the camera! I love his smile, but I was never able to capture it when I was spamming photos of us for these 2 years.

Love, Bonito Collete top; super love the back design. It's like snake and ladder on my back :D

The handsome boy's ootd; Topman jeans and Aldo shoes.

Dear S, I don't know if you'll ever read this, but thank you for all that you've done for me during these 2 years. Thank you for tolerating me when I always lose my temper easily and when I whine so much, especially when I'm sick, pms-ing or having the time of the month. I know it hasn't always been a smooth journey for us, but we always manage to come back stronger, closer and more sure of us. No relationships are without the down parts, I'm sure we'll continue to make it through all the obstacles awaiting us in future. We'll make it work together. I love you Stefan.

Flu bug
Wednesday, November 20, 2013 @ 6:41 PM ✈

Being sick is kinda good actually, at least I get to rest at home without having to stress about work. MC for 2 days, hmmmm it means I'm actually only working 2 days this week! On leave on Monday, went back to work yesterday even though I wasn't feeling well. Super hectic day yesterday, I had to clear 4 days worth of samples (weekends + Monday and yesterday's). Usually when one's on leave/MC, a colleague will help cover the work for your station. But I guess I was just unlucky that my colleagues were all "too busy" to help me. Imagine if I didn't turn up for work yesterday.....

Anyway I'm currently sorting out the photos from Monday which I will blog about soon (hopefully tomorrow)! Most probably gonna separate into 2 posts, leaving a solo post for the review on The Line @ Shangri-La Hotel. Looking at the photos just made me miss the awesome food I had there.......

Tong Heng Confectionary
@ 5:09 PM ✈

Tong Heng Confectionary (東興)
Address: 285 South Bridge Rd Singapore 058833
Tel: 6223 3649
Opening hours: 9am - 10pm daily

Absolutely love their traditional chinese pastries! Opened since the 1920s, Tong Heng Confectionery has a longggg history for their awesome pastries. They currently have 2 outlets, the main one located in Chinatown which provides seating and a takeaway counter in Jurong Point.

I love their egg tarts ($1.40 each) the most, best eaten fresh and warm from the oven. But I also like the tarts after keeping them in the fridge the whole night :D What won me over was their smooth, wobbly egg custard that wasn't overly sweet. To me, the crusts of egg tarts are equally important. Compared to those egg tarts with thick hard crusts that you can get from normal bakeries, I definitely preferred Tong Heng's version of soft flaky crusts. They also have coconut egg tarts ($1.50 each) for the coconut lovers out there. I'm not really a fan of coconut so I'm not sure about how it tastes though.

Another of their pastry in my "to buy" list is the 叉烧酥 (BBQ prok crisp). Priced at $1.30 each, the filling is moist and well flavored, plus they are generous with BBQ pork! Even after leaving them overnight, the crust was still soft and flaky. I prefer my 叉烧酥 with flaky crusts more than buttery and crumbly kinds.

Tong Heng's also known for their 老婆饼 (candied melon crisp/wife cookie), which I have yet to try in the 20 years of my life T.T I've never bought Tong Heng myself, usually it's my uncle (working nearby) who sends it to my house and this time it was my sister who happened to pass by the shop. Definitely gonna try this next time when I get to choose what I want!

The Tiramisu Hero
Monday, November 04, 2013 @ 10:47 PM ✈

Hiya! Back to update about my Sunday tea time spent with my favorite girl (:

The Tiramisu Hero Cafe
Address: 121 Tyrwhitt Road Singapore 207548
Tel: 6292 5271
Opening hours: 11am - 10pm (closed on Wednesdays)
Nearest MRT: Lavender

From an online store specializing in tiramisu to a cosy little cafe offering more than just desserts, The Tiramisu Hero has definitely grown a lot over the years. Owners Aileen and Peggy were really creative in coming up with the Sir Antonio mascot, and the presentation and the flavors of the tiramisu they offer. Just 6-8 minutes walk away from Lavender MRT station, the cafe is located on the same stretch of road as Chye Seng Huat Hardware. The cafe is small but cosy, with very limited space outdoors (2 tables to be exact). I'm not sure if reservations are allowed, but I'll advice going earlier to avoid having to queue to enter. Love the interior design of the cafe, with the adorable Sir Antonio wall art and even their washroom's beautiful! Plus the artificial grass outdoors....I'm totally in love with this place before I even tried their food.

Moving on with the food, since my friend and I had lunch before heading to the cafe, we were only here for some desserts, drinks or snacks. The prices on the menu were exclusive of 10% service charge, though we had to queue at the front to order the food. We ordered the waffles with chocolate ice cream ($7 + $4) but unfortunately the waffle machine broke down while they were making our waffles -.- (cause the table beside us were just served with waffles). Hence we decided to change our order to the Chunky mushroom soup with garlic bread ($6). My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it!

Patsy Mojito Tea which my friend said had a toothpaste-like aftertaste.

Double Chocolate Ice Blended - a safe choice as nothing can go wrong, though there's nothing special about it.

MommaHero ($7.50) serves 1-2 pax, and there are variety of flavors to choose from. My girlfriend and I chose to try the original flavor. However, do take note that some flavors are only available through online pre-order. The Tiramisu Hero has really creative ways of presenting their Tiramisu; from cupcakes to jarcakes, tiramisu in buckets, tins and finally the classic round cakes. The tiramisu available in the cafe made with the signature recipe: Alcohol level 1, Wetness level 2, Sweetness level 2. I feel that the tiramisu was too wet for my liking, and I would prefer if there's some biscuit layer so there'll be a layer of crunch.

Got these adorable MiniHeros ($3.50 each) for my family.

The cafe also has this huge head of their Sir Antonio mascot for photo-takings! Ending off with an ootd which matches Sir Antonio!

Goodnight!
