The Velvet Dolls, Love and Bravery
Tuesday, August 27, 2013 @ 7:40 PM ✈

The Velvet Dolls:

Got this dress last Thursday and it came in the mail yesterday! Available in 3 colors, my sis & I had a hard time deciding which color to get for this dress and finally decided on black because of our love for monochrome. This dress is still available online in all 3 colors, with some sizes already out of stock.

Duo-tone shift dress in white & black (M)

A simple and pretty dress which is suitable for work. Pair it with heels and you're good to go, or you can further dress it up with a blazer. (: The dress comes with full inner lining and it's not sheer for black. However, the material is quite thin so I'm guessing white might still be slightly sheer. Size M is 32.5" long, which is fine on me (1.62m) but a little short on my sister (1.65m). The dress fits me with allowance at the PTP and waist but this problem can easily be solved with a belt. Therefore I will advice people to stick to your usual TVD sizing!  Quite disappointed with the material of the dress though, cause the cloth feels rather rough and it hurts when the sleeve area kept rubbing against my arms. ): Thank god the dress is fully lined, otherwise wearing it for the whole day can be really painful. The color is true to their stock photos and the dress comes with a concealed back zip which was rather smooth. Overall this was just an okay buy for $31.

Love and Bravery:

This dress is launching online next week, but was already available in stores since 2 weeks ago. There were 4 colors displayed in the Tampines outlet - white, cobalt, yellow and plum/pink. I was quite sold for the design as this dress features a slight cut in at the top and an asymmetrical hem. Got this dress in cobalt size S as the PTP for size M was too big. The concealed back zip was very smooth and quality of the dress is definitely appropriate for work, I'm guessing the length is about 32.5" or 33" for size S. The dress is thick, slightly stretchy; hugs your curves yet very comfortable. Totally worth the price of $32 in the stores! (:

That's all for now!
Dinner time! ^^

Swim day
Sunday, August 25, 2013 @ 11:07 PM ✈

Swimming with the botak boy today! Even though it's only for a short while, at least we got to see each other (:

Must have at the beach/pool - Sunplay's sunscreen! I used the SPF 75 for my body and SPF 130 one on my face and I love how non-oily it is! As my face is those oily types, I really hate adding more oily stuffs on it; disgusting and causes more pimples to pop out. -.-

I love touching his head now! ^^

Trying to imitate those commercials but failed. HAHAHA

Came back home to this! Rewarding myself after the swim lolol

It's Monday again tomorrow! Back to work/school for everyone except me. ):
Have a great week ahead!

Fukuichi
Thursday, August 22, 2013 @ 4:25 PM ✈

Everyday has been so boring for me ever since Stefan enlisted. No one to go out with anymore on weekdays since everyone around me are working. ): No outings = nothing to blog about anymore ._. I really need to find a job soon, hate being at home doing nothing all day, especially being home alone. And since I'm so bored at home, I've decided to do a review on the japanese dining place I went with my brother for lunch last week. I've always thought that TripleOne Somerset is an office building, until my brother brought me there that day! He wanted to try their lunch sets after reading good reviews about the restaurant online.

Fukuichi Japanese Dining Restaurant
TripleOne Somerset #02-11/12 (Nearest MRT: Somerset)
Operating hours: 12pm-3pm (lunch), 6pm to 12am (dinner)
I don't have the photos of the interior, but the restaurant was big and spacious; they have indoor and outdoor seats, and a sake bar located at their outdoor area. We went there at about 1pm and the restaurant was relatively crowded with many working adults there (cause mostly wearing formal wear). Since there aren't any photos with the interior, I shall just move on to the food - which is the highlight anyway! (:

Spider Maki ($15)

Saba Shioyaki Set ($18)

Shake Sashimi Udon Teishoku ($18)

AWESOMEEEEE - and I really mean it. My brother's saba set consisted of a bowl of rice, his fish, chawanmushi, soup and salad while my salmon sashimi set has a bowl of udon, salmon sashimi, salad and this little bowl of unidentified weird looking cold dish. Being a picky eater, I hesitated for a long time before I picked up courage to try it. It turned out to be really delicious kani tofu! Not a fan of century eggs but I really love this cold dish. So smooth, so fragrant.

Moving on to the salad, it was a first for me - the first time I actually finished a bowl of salad. To be honest, there's only a very short list of vegetables I eat (really very picky eater here) so I always don't finish my salads. But the salad they served only contained the vegetables I like! How coincidental is this! My favorite greens all in this crunchy, refreshing and a little sour salad - I definitely have to finish it! ^^ As for the salmon sashimi, it was really fresh, fat and good!!! Okay I'm running out of words to describe "good" as everything was so nice lol. (pardon my poor vocab) The udon, on the other hand was nothing special even though it was quite chewy/Q. Got to try a little of my brother's saba fish which was sweet and heavenly! Oh and they served watermelons after the food too ((: The final bill totaled up to around $60, which I felt was reasonable since the food was so so soooo good. Will definitely come back again and perhaps for their dinner menus if I have the money lol. (since this was bro's treat) Everyone reading this should really go and try their food!

Hang in there! It's almost the weekends!

Stefan's 20th
Thursday, August 15, 2013 @ 10:40 PM ✈

Happy 20th Birthday Stefan!

Stefan's birthday card which I made by myself featuring his favorite Avengers

Macarons/Macaroons (someone please correct my spelling) for the boy since he's never tried them before. Got these beautiful munchies from Bakerzin at Tampines 1 (#01-39/40) at $12.85 for a box of assorted 7, you can even order this on their website ($12 for box of 7). Really love how colorful these macarons are! The boy said they tastes great especially the unknown flavor which tasted like kinder bueno. Got to try some of them from the generous birthday boy. These macarons are creamy and chewy. With the crackly shell, it's crisp in the outside, smooth and soft in the middle. Perfect dessert after a heavy meal. *Thumbs up!*

Dinner at Swensens with the boy's family after watching Elysium. Hope you enjoyed yourself today, love. Counting down: 5 days till he enters army!

It's Wednesday!
Wednesday, August 14, 2013 @ 4:07 PM ✈

Going out in bare face (really 0 make up) for these 2 days since I'll probably be staying around Tampines/Pasir Ris areas. I like how I can be myself in front of Stef and he doesn't mind (:  In fact he always does silly things with me!

No make up, no edits for the above photos! Bad eyebrows, horrendous dark eye rings and eyebags plus pimples and more....I know -.- But no make up is really too comfortable! Really hate how my face gets so OILY whenever I apply makeup, even if it's just BB cream. Make up makes me feel like my face can't breathe ):

Loving my neon orange oversize knitted top!

See what I mean by silly things. HAHAHAH we have tons of photos like this! Anyway this boy is turning 20 tomorrow! Making a really cute card (cute in my mind but not sure how it'll turn out eventually) for him currently. Hope everything turns out well. I shall go back to continue with my "project"! Pray for me people!

Birthday 2013
Sunday, August 11, 2013 @ 10:28 PM ✈

Turned 20 two days back. That's it, the end to my teen years T.T Be prepared for a long/wordy post today though I'll try my best to cut it as short as possible.

9th August - Dimsum lunch at Crystal Jade @ Nex before we headed to my 大舅's house for the annual Neo Family NDP gathering. I don't have a nice photo of the birthday celebration this year but I'll just reuse some photos form the past gatherings.

Food was pretty good just that egg tarts weren't available that day ):

Reusing my family photo from my 17th birthday

Taken during father's day 2011 - Yes, this is my mum's side family (some not present in the photo); we gather during CNY, June holidays, National Day and Christmas every year

10th August - Timbre date with Stefan & our poly mates. DUCK PIZZAAAAAAA!! Sadly, no photos of the food cause we were seated outside and the lighting was bad (my Iphone's camera was bad too). Well I'm sure there's no need for the food reviews anyway, since there was a time when Timbre suddenly became quite a popular choice for gatherings/dining.

Wearing Love, Bonito's grey knitted top with jeggings and heels, I even asked my sister to draw eyeliner for me cause I wanted to dress up for our date; not knowing that the boy collaborated with our poly clique for the surprise ><

Thank you for coming down! Missing Sabrina and her sheep cause they left earlier.

11th August - Sundate with my bbg @ Kith Cafe followed by manicure session at Far East Plaza. Thank you Sabrina for the food and manicure! ♥

Credits to kith.com.sg for the photos.

Located at Park Mall (nearest station at Dhoby Ghaut MRT), Kith Cafe is quite a great place to hangout or "chill" with your friends, families or date. They have indoor and outdoor seats, and I'm glad to be seated indoors cause it's really warm today! The interior of the cafe feels really cozy, with the chalkboard at the far end and the handwritten menu, I believe I can catch up with my friends the whole day in there! k I'm just kidding. But to be honest, just looking at the photos above makes me feel comfortable. They even have the detailed menu which you can download from the website! Really thought since picky eaters like me can look at what they offer before heading down.

What we had:
1. Blended Watermelon, Lychee ($7.50) and Lychee & Grapefruit Soda ($8.50)
2. Grilled Chicken Salad ($15)
3. Fries ($9.50)
4. Bacon, Scrambled Egg, Cheddar Toasties ($6.50)

I think we made rather good choices with the drinks given the super hot weather today. Refreshing, sweet yet not too over; but the food we had were just of average standards. The truffle fries aren't bad, a little salt though, and I find myself stopping after having about 10 of them. I felt that most of the food here are quite overpriced, definitely not catered to students/jobless people like me; more suited for the working adults. However, their service was good. (: The staff were friendly and attentive plus we didn't have to wait long for the food. I will probably give this place a second chance and try other food (or maybe the other outlets) when I start working next time.

Went for a Gelish Manicure session afterwards at Dazzling Diva Nail Spa in Far East Plaza (#04-80) using the Groupon deal ($25 for Gelish Mani OR Pedi + Return soak off within a month) that Sabrina bought. This shop is under the Farenheit Group together with other nail spas - Luv Ur Nails (#04-25), Tinkerbelle (#03-35) and Glamorous (#03-93), which are all located in Far East Plaza. The interior of Dazzling Diva Nail Spa was pretty, with comfy seats and a wide variety of nail polish colors to select from even though it was a rather small shop. There's a TV where they play some music videos/concerts so you won't feel bored during the time there.

Paid extra $15 to soak off my previous gelish mani and $12 for french tips. The Groupon deal only includes normal gelish manicures so you have to top up if you want some nail designs. Did french manicure in case I get called up for some interview within the month - I'm sure interviewers wouldn't be impressed to see bimbotic manicures during handshakes especially in the field (Chemistry) I'm applying for where most companies don't allow it; which is also why Sabrina gave me her Groupon deal. Anyway I had a rather enjoyable time during the manicure as the manicurist was friendly and patient, though i wouldn't say she's very gentle from the way she filed my nails. The manicurist who attended to me was a Malaysian woman, actually nowadays most nail spas hire foreigners as manicurists. Don't you hate it when the manicurists start talking to their colleagues in their own language? Like trying to scam your money with hidden charges/jack up the price if they didn't tell you about it at first. Happened to me during my first 2 manicure experiences at 2 different nail spas in FEP. Well I'm really glad that this didn't happen today (:  Although they are not the nail spa which offers the cheapest service in FEP, I will still be back to pamper my nails in future if my future job allows!

Ending off with my pretty french nails + Sabrina and my outfit of the day shots!

Adventure Cove!
Wednesday, August 07, 2013 @ 12:16 AM ✈

Had a fun-filled day with Stef at Adventure Cove today. (: The weather was good too, perhaps too good that my SPF 130 sunscreen wasn't enough cause I'm a burnt pig now T.T Well I can only blame myself for having so much fun till I forgot to reapply it every hour or so. Went snorkeling for the first time today too! I was really scared initially as the water was 2.9m deep and I can't swim very well but since we had life jackets on, I figure nothing bad can happen unless I'm really that unlucky. Highly recommend this activity to those who are heading to Adventure Cove! Although the water was freezing and salty (drank some seawater cause I didn't bite on the mouthpiece tight enough), the view underwater was really awesome! Do remember not to breathe through your nose as it causes your mask to blur out and you won't be able to see those pretty fishes anymore. Since it's a weekday today, it wasn't really crowded in Adventure Cove so the queues for most rides moved pretty fast.

Decked in Love, Bonito (bikini & top) and my wear-to-death Bershka shorts, I guess I was pretty ready to battle the heat and the waves!

Brooklyn Bikini in white from Love, Bonito

Had to edit this cause I wore my board shorts to high and it looked ridiculous -.-

Black knitted crop spag from Love, Bonito

Scored this at $12 during the Love, Bonito warehouse sales; got it in grey as well since it can be paired with most of my denim shorts and jeans. Really comfy piece, definitely on my top "to wear out" list when the weather gets to hot. Featuring a slight V-neckline, it doesn't really show your bra during normal times like walking/standing but when you bend over it's a different story. Daring/confident girls who have the assets can go ahead and wear it out without inner tube/slip. However for girls like me (flat-chested with nothing to show), I will definitely recommend wearing a tube (which I forgot to pack into my bag today) since the holes on the top aren't that tiny as well.

Disappointing lunch at Astons Specialities, where my grilled fish is nothing but black, burnt and bitter; the herb sauce and the cheese from my side side can't even make it better. I probably won't come back anymore even though Stefan's Hickory BBQ chicken was passable.

Chanced upon this skater dress in Kissjane Vivocity. Can't remember which blogshop was this from but I've seen similar pieces selling on Momoteapots, Chaceylove, The Tinsel Rack and Gipsy Scarlet etc. Tried it in size M but as you can see from the photo, it's really short for me even though I'm only 1.62m. Otherwise, this is really a pretty piece with the details at the back as it hugs your curves well, giving the illusion of a smaller waist - I've never seen my waist this small! Would have definitely bagged it home if the dress was longer. ):

Goodnight and happy midweek everyone!

Hi there!
Monday, August 05, 2013 @ 10:33 PM ✈

Finally decided to start blogging again since I've been so free at home. Plus the boyfriend's enlisting really soon ):

AforArcade's Fun of the fair striped tank in black, love bonito's clutch in pink (I can't seem to find the name of the clutch!)

Wore this top out today on a shopping date with Stef. ^^ Like the reviews from bestofshopping, this tank really doesn't disappoint! Stripes X Scallop hems  Tried the blue version (cause black's oos), Size M in Kissjane and the PTP was too big hence I decided to cart out size S for black online. Priced at $26.50 online plus the 10% GSS discount that time, I got this at around $23/$24! Quite a good deal since the top's comfy and made with relatively good material. Another plus is that it's lined, so the white parts aren't sheer at all! The only downside for me is that the top's a lil short for my preference (21.5"); wished it could be 2 or 3cm longer but it's not really a big problem cause I'm too in love with the design. (:

Have an awesome week ahead people!
